Open Day Event – 14th October, 2023

On Saturday, 14th October, the Cotton Queens held an open day at Slaterfield Community Centre to celebrate their work.  The group completed a performance of Childhood Memory stories and a reading of their radio play in front of their friends and relatives as well as guest speakers, the Mayor, representatives of the project’s sponsors and local councillors.  The Cotton Queens also displayed their new banner that commemorates the lives and work of Worktown Women, models, dolls and stories.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate all their hard work and the feedback from guests was wonderful.
